Who I am
Dan Moore- Owner and Lead Photographer of Flashpoint Collective
I see a light as if it were a paintbrush; I see memories ready to be captured. We all have a story and “there is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you”
(Maya Angelou). Photography has given me the opportunity to see into the inner workings of the world and the untold story bearing inside.
My passion for music was what first got me into photography. By photographing musicians it allowed me to live vicariously through them and that was when I soon realized that I loved studying life through the lens of my camera.
Brooks Institute of Photography was one of my most intense experiences of my life. In 2008, I achieved a BA in Commercial Advertising through determination and patience. It has been a cornerstone to my work since.
For 15 years I have been working as a professional photographer and I have acquired extensive knowledge with small, medium and large format cameras, in both digital and film. I also have gained an extensive knowledge in Leaf, Phaseone, Hassenlblad, Betterlight, and Megavision digital backs. As well as in color management, printing and pre-press. In my current portfolio you will find my work in: food, product, architecture and editorial portraiture.
I have had the great pleasure to work with a lot of amazing companies such as: National Geographic, The North Face, California Closets, Peet’s Coffee, Discovery Channel, ESPN, and many more.
There is a lot of power in an image. I don’t just want to give a technically well done photo but a photo that speaks. I want to capture your voice into long lasting and impactful imagery.
